Connect with Facebook
Personally I do not do alot on Facebook. It's my own privacy issue. I admit it. I don't want people I haven't talked to in 15 years to see what I am doing now. 
There is a reason I have not talked to them in 15 years. I am not talking about normal people, I am talking about hundreds of ex girlfriends who are cyber stalking me.
Ok, maybe there are not hundreds. But if you are reading this you know who you are.
Then there are companies and peope that ask me, should I get a Facebook profile for my company?
What would I do with it? What can I do on Facebook?
Can I collect information on the people that like my status?
The answer to everything is yes. Except for what can I do on Facebook, that answer is anything.
Facebook has created an excellent platform or "environment" where people want to log in and GIVE AWAY all of their information for free. Information on what they are doing, what they like to do, their personal tastes on music, religion and hobbies.
Facebook has then made it easy for companies to target their products/services to potential conusmers.
Facebook sells access to you and the things and people that you like.
Is it worth your company investing in a Facebook Site? Is Social Media a fad?
The point is Facebook is a PERSONAL website that people use to update on their personal information. If you are a company that provides PERSONAL services Facebook is a must-have on your marketing campaign. I saw a presentation that gave some statistics about Social Media and it said that if Facebook was a country, it would be the 3rd largest country in the world. {youtubegalleryid=1}
If your company provides services for other companies, Facebook is also a great landing place to increase your brand awareness.
No really Facebook has applications for almost anyone. It just depends on how we want to use it.
Facebook is an open platform, where you can create the content. You create the Facebook profile. Facebook provides site (software/landing page).
