Asian Health Fair

The Asian Health fair has expanded into the Free Health Fair. It is co-sponsored by the Asian Center of Grand Rapids and MAPI(Michigan Association of Physicians of  Indian Origin). This health fair was held in September 2009 at Centrepointe Mall in Grand Rapids. 

The idea of this health fair is to offer free health care to all participants who are able to attend. We worked with various non-profits and community organizations to promote the event. We also provided transportation to and from points in the Downtown Grand Rapids area. 

This event was created to be a mixture of Western and Eastern style medicines. We offered free consultations to cardiologist, OBGYN's and other medical doctors. We also offered access to non-traditional styles of medicine including acupuncture, an Iridiologist from Japan, and massage therapy. 

The event was well attended with over 300 participants getting their BMI checked and blood work done. 

ABCD participated by working on the Team of coordinators. ABCD employees were in charge of the logistics planning and execution the day of the event.
